Welcoming a sporting legend to the PURE Co team

We’re delighted to announce the addition of Gavin Hamilton to the PURE Co team as our new Account Director.

Gavin joined the Yorkshire Cricket Academy at 17, going on to become a professional cricketer for the club until his retirement from the sport at 30. Following 13 years of winters in South Africa and Australia with the Scotland and England teams, he got the opportunity to work for what was then called the Caledonian Brewing Company – in what he calls “a natural transition from sport to alcohol”.

Driving new growth for the business

A great chance to learn a trade after leaving school so early, Gavin worked for CBC for 9 years, throughout its takeover by Heineken, progressing from regional to national sales manager. By then, the call of cricket was too great for Gavin, who followed his venture into the booze business with a role at the Professional Cricketer’s Association. In his 6 years there, he learned a different side to commercial and event management. Now he’s joining PURE Co as an account director to drive new growth for the business, bring new ideas to the team and evolve our internal structure.

When asked what excited him most about his new role, Gavin said: “The brand-new conversations I’m having, the different sports I’m exposed to and a new challenge to live up to. It’s a good bunch of people to work with too.” We’re looking forward to working with Gavin and his sporting and events management expertise as we take our business to the next level in 2020.
